Severe thunderstorms developed Sunday afternoon in Northeast, Colorado. Bringing with it a swath of destructive elements from tornadoes to flooding and heavy rainfall to gigantic hailstones. The hailstones measured 4.5” in diameter and some even had the telltale spikes of a large hail ice conglomerate called agglomerates. These types of thorny ice balls, which are essentially hailstones made up of tiny hailstones are especially dangerous and can be deadly. However, as of now, no human injuries have been reported. Likewise, no farm or town damage is on record for extensive damages either.

The peak hail season here in Denver and across the state is still in full swing. Typically the worst storms are in July but severe hail storms have been recorded all the way through October.
